Our Story

We’re Trav and Dana, and the story of NORISH began with a simple but important mission: find an easy way to improve our family’s health.

A few years ago, we found ourselves struggling with something that’s all too familiar to many parents: ensuring our two growing boys were getting the nutrients they needed for energy, growth, and overall well-being. Not to mention supporting our own health as we age!

Despite our best efforts (and endless Google searches), we were constantly feeling disappointed by the options on store shelves—most vitamins were lab-processed and lacked the essential minerals that only whole foods can offer.

Determined, we dove deeper into research and soon discovered a larger issue. Due to over-farming and harmful chemicals, much of the world’s soil and water (aka. everything we consume in our daily diets) is depleted of the minerals our bodies need to thrive. We wanted something better. Something real! And that’s when sea moss entered the picture—an unmatched superfood packed with 92 of the 102 minerals our bodies need to fight illness, rejuvenate, and flourish.

Here’s the secret: this wasn’t an easy find. At the time, there were no local sources for sea moss in British Columbia, so we sought out farmers in Saint Lucia who could provide the highest quality, organic sea moss…and we got to work!

We began making our own sea moss gel and freeze drying it, then added it into our family’s everyday meals: on our eggs, sprinkled on the kids’ noodles, in our soups and daily smoothies! The changes were profound—and INSTANT. Better sleep, more energy, fewer colds (cue the celebrations!), improved focus—and even relief from peri-menopause symptoms! (Where my mid-life women at?!)

Seeing these benefits firsthand, we knew this was something we had to share, and NORISH was born—with a simple goal: to create whole, nutrient-dense solutions that make it easy for families to nourish themselves, without the hassle.
